How to be Luckier in Life

Do you believe in Luck?

“I’m a great believer in luck, and I find the harder I work the more I have of it” ― Thomas Jefferson

Everyone could use a little luck in life.

Let’s explore how you can be luckier in life.

This article was written by a Financial Horse Contributor.

1. Be more observant

You may complain that nothing good ever happens to you, but think again.

Are you looking hard enough?

Being lucky means you are able to be observant and spot opportunities.

Opportunities are everywhere you look, you just need to look closely enough.

Spot opportunities, and seize them.

2. Follow your gut

Being lucky means trusting your gut.

People who have honed their instincts tend to be “luckier” because they seem to be able to make the right moves, and avoid danger.

Having good instincts doesn’t happen overnight, it takes time and experience.

You have to pay attention and listen to your gut.

3. Abundant mindset

Being lucky in life and finances means embracing an abundance mindset.

Instead of a scarcity mindset, try thinking abundant.

You have to expect good things, for good things to happen to you.

4. Position yourself advantageously

Taking advantage of luck requires preparation.

Ever wondered why some people have all the luck?

Good things don’t just magically fall from the sky.

You have to position yourself strategically to be able to catch these things when they fall.

This means working hard, being willing to go out of your comfort zone and trying new things, and adopting a humble mindset to learn from others.

5. Avoid negativity

There’s nothing worse than being surrounded by negativity.

So much toxicity will only bring you you down.

Get lucky by making sure you have a positive headspace, and are surrounded by positive people.

Avoid energy vampires who dwell on the negative and sit around complaining.

Look for people who are motivated, driven and solution-focused.

6. Network

For every lucky person who makes it big, there are a hundred hands supporting them from behind.

So get out there and mingle!

For your career, social life and love life, getting out there and meeting people is key.

Nowadays, there are also plenty of ways to connect online.

Start from your interests, and find like-minded people to connect organically.

7. Look for the silver lining

Being lucky also means looking at the glass half full (instead of half empty).

For every setback, there are important lessons to be learnt.

Success requires mistakes.

Making mistakes is simply part of the journey.

If you’re always able to look at the silver lining, you’ll find yourself very lucky.

8. Give back

Giving back is so important to leading a happy and fulfiling life.

Be generous with others, and others will be generous to you.

“As we work to create light for others, we naturally light our own way.” – Mary Anne Radmacher
